🎿 Why the Right Alpine Ski Gear Matters – and How Salomon Gives Me the Edge

In alpine skiing, the margins are razor-thin. Hundredths of a second decide rankings, and a small mistake in your ski setup can be the difference between winning and disappointment. That’s why I’m incredibly grateful for my partnership with Salomon. They provide me with world-class racing gear, and it makes a huge difference in my daily life as a ski racer.

Why Equipment Is So Important in Alpine Skiing

Many people think technique is everything – and yes, it’s absolutely essential. But even the best technique won’t deliver results without the right equipment setup and high-performance ski gear.

Throughout the season, we race on extremely varied snow conditions:

  • Icy, rock-hard World Cup surfaces

  • Spring snow, soft snow, salted courses, and artificial snow

  • Steep slopes and flat sections

All of this demands precise adjustments to things like:

  • Ski stiffness

  • Stand height (binding setup)

  • Edge tuning and base structure

For example:

  • On icy slopes, a difference of just 0.1° in edge angle can mean grip or no grip

  • Too high bindings create instability – too low reduces power

  • The right edge and base grind improves glide – the wrong one ruins control

Salomon Provides Top-Tier Racing Skis and Confidence

This is where Salomon skis truly stand out. They understand the details. I don’t just receive gear – I get support, advice, and custom setups tailored to my specific goals and needs.

I always feel confident that my ski equipment is perfectly prepared – whether it’s skis, boots, or bindings. That allows me to focus 100% on what really matters: skiing as fast as possible.

A Partnership I’m Proud Of

I’m incredibly proud to be part of the Salomon family. It’s a brand that not only delivers quality but genuinely cares about its athletes.

Without their support, it would have been much harder to make the progress I’ve achieved this season – moving from 269th to 61st in the world slalom ranking, with several podiums and wins in FIS and Continental Cup (FEC) races.
