In elite sports, setting clear goals is essential – not just for motivation, but to know where you’re headed and how to get there. For me, it’s about setting goals I can realistically reach, while also having goals that push me beyond my comfort zone.
It’s easy to set safe goals that offer a quick sense of achievement. But setting goals that demand everything – and then some – is what drives real growth. I’ve chosen both. My goals are ambitious, but I firmly believe they’re achievable. It takes structure, dedication, development – and having the right people around me.
The Road Ahead – My Goals Towards 2026
My focus over the next two seasons is clear and intentional. I’ve divided my goals into two categories: sporting goalsand strategic goals. Both are equally important for long-term success.
Season 2025/26
Sporting Goals:
– Top 20 on the European Cup start list in slalom
– Win a Continental Cup race
– Top 3 at the Norwegian National Championships in slalom
– Achieve under 15 FIS points in slalom
– Be selected for the Norwegian EC national team
Strategic Goals:
– Strengthen my visibility through mattalarsen.com and social media
– Establish 3–5 partnerships with companies who want to support the journey
– Act as a role model and motivator for younger athletes in Hemsedal IL
Season 2026/27
Sporting Goals:
– Qualify for World Cup start in slalom
– Stabilize within the top 10 in European Cup slalom
– Build a foundation for World Championships or a permanent World Cup spot
Strategic Goals:
– Increase sponsorship budget to allow full
-time focus on skiing
– Further develop my role as a role model for younger athletes
– Create valuable content and collaborations that inspire and engage
Looking Further – The Narvik 2029 Dream
Long-term, my dream is to represent Norway at the World Championships in Narvik 2029. That may still be a few years away, but every step I take now is building toward that moment.
Want to Be Part of the Journey?
I know I can’t do this alone. I need partners, supporters, and people who believe in what I’m building. If you're interested in being part of this journey – as a sponsor, collaborator, or supporter – feel free to reach out. I'm always open to meaningful conversations and partnerships.
