Growing Up in Hemsedal – A Solid Foundation for My Alpine Journey

Growing up in Hemsedal has been a huge advantage for me as an alpine skier. Living in a mountain village like this gives you unique access to ski training from a young age, and the support from both Hemsedal IL and Skistar Hemsedal has played a big role in my development.

Through Hemsedal IL, I got to join training sessions and races early on. It gave me a safe and fun environment to grow in. Skistar Hemsedal has provided world-class slopes and training facilities – right outside the door.

What I probably value most is the sense of community. Volunteering is a big part of sports in Hemsedal. Parents step up as coaches, help during races, drive to events and cheer everyone on. Without that, many of us wouldn’t have had the chance to pursue the sport like we have.

I’m grateful for everything Hemsedal has given me – and proud to come from a place where sports, nature and people are so closely connected.
